Enter: Brad Wood \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e(Touché Amoré, The Smashing Pumpkins). \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eChosen for both his familiarity with Mono's creative and \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003etechnical working process - as well as his decades-long \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003efriendship with Steve Albini - Brad Wood entered Albini's \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003estoried Electrical Audio studios in September 2025 to record \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003ewhat would become Snowdrop. Once again working with \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eChicago-based conductor and orchestral musical director, \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eChad McCullough, Mono enlisted a 10-piece orchestra as \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003ewell as an 8-piece choir for the eight massive pieces that \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003emake up Snowdrop. With the band performing and Wood \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003erecording in the same hallowed space where most of \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eMono's records had been made in their quarter-century \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003ehistory, the songs on Snowdrop carry an extra weight. Mixed \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eby Wood at his Seagrass home studio in Los Angeles, the \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003ealbum is equally intimate and enveloping. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eWhere there could easily be a pall hanging over Snowdrop, \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003ethere is instead an extraordinary air of gratitude.
