RETURN/EXCHANGE POLICY

We have a 30-day policy when it comes to returns and exchanges. This means, customers have 30 days from the receipt of the online order or from the completion of any in-store purchase to request a return or exchange. To request a return, please email us at hello@rustandwax.com.  Each request will be evaluated on a case by case basis.

It is important that all items are inspected upon receiving the order and that any complaints are directed to Rust & Wax immediately. Once a return request has been made and Rust & Wax has authorized the return, the customer has 10 days to return the merchandise.

All returns must still be in the original packaging with all original price tags and no additional signs that wear has occurred from the customer’s handling of the merchandise. Sealed media must still be sealed for a return or exchange to be authorized. No returns will be authorized if the item is not returned in this specified condition.  

A store credit in the amount of the original purchase price will be issued for any authorized return. No cash refund will be given except in specific circumstances outlined below (see Defects and Shipping Damages).

DEFECTS

  • If any NEW media purchased at Rust & Wax is defective due to an error by the manufacturer, we will replace that item with another copy (subject to availability). If there is not another copy of that item in stock, we will offer a full refund for the cost of the item. Returns/exchanges will only be authorized for defects that affect the play of the media and will not be authorized for cosmetic issues. Returns/exchanges for defects will only be authorized once one of our team members is able to observe the media in person and confirm the defect.

  • If any USED MEDIA purchased from Rust & Wax has an unidentified/unlisted defect that prevents it from playing, you can receive a full refund if you contact us within the 30 days after purchasing the item.  One of our team members must be able to confirm the defect in person in order to authorize the return. Please note, there are no returns on any bargain bin items or items listed as final sale.

SHIPPING DAMAGES

If an order is damaged or mishandled due to an error by our shipping company, we will either offer a partial credit or full return, determined on a case-by-case basis. Furthermore, returns of any items damaged in shipping must comply with return policies outlined above.  Please feel free to contact the Rust & Wax for more information at hello@rustandwax.com.  But please note, while we understand minor cosmetic damages can be frustrating, we believe records are meant to be played and enjoyed, and minor cosmetic damage to sleeves is a byproduct of collecting records.
