Jason Singer spent years building Michigander from a DIY solo project in Kalamazoo into a national indie-rock staple through little more than a guitar and a refusal to quit. The record finds power in the tension of living with both the good and the bad, refusing to let outside noise or internal doubt act as a roadblock.
